Interim Dean of the College of Education appointed

Patricia Green-Powell was appointed the new interim dean of the Florida A&M College of Education Thursday by Florida A&M University Interim President Larry Robinson.

Former dean Genniver C. Bell, will remain a full time professor within the College of Education.

In a press release, Robinson said the “change is in the best interest of the college and the university,” but did not cite the reason for the change.

“I take on this assignment with a high level of commitment to the task,” said Green-Powell in the release. She added that the curriculum for the college will continue along a previously set academic plan.

Green-Powell began her career at FAMU in 1994 when she served as the director of student services in the College of Business and Industry. She later took a position at Bainbridge College and returned to FAMU in 2003 as the vice president of Student Affairs. She began work in the College of Education in 2005.
