Many in Tallahassee know the Breathe In Color studio as a pole fitness club. But it’s much more than that.

The owner, Teylor Parks, a Florida A&M University graduate, continues to strive to create different ways to be a gateway for growth and creativity.  She stresses that Breathe in Color is a safe space for all who come to the studio.

It is located on the western end of FAMU Way in the Railroad Square area.

The business had its grand opening on Jan. 16, 2023. Parks later held an MLK Day Black Art and Business Expo to celebrate the historic holiday and welcomed Black businesses and creatives.Since its launch, Breathe In Color has continued to expand its brand of health and wellness by offering different classes and allowing members of the community to host events, teach classes, or sell their art.

Members of the community have partnered with the Breathe in Color studio to host different types of events like open mic night, a pop-up shop for Bas Magazine as well as yoga and meditation classes.

Mariah Moore practices yoga regularly and she shares how she has experienced a new level of comfort during the yoga and meditation class with Ivana.

Ivana was sure to repeat positive affirmations and assurance that each experience will vary for each person. She motivated us to carry our own pace during this period of connecting with our bodies,” Moore said.

After their first visit to the Breathe in Color studio, TaBrea Austin and Mariah Moore were impressed by how comfortable the energy of the studio felt and the sense of relief they felt after their meditation session.

Ivana teaches yoga and movement meditation at the Breathe in Color studio on Mondays and Wednesdays. Ivana shares her experience in growing her brand and pushing her boundaries.

It feels like im exactly where I am supposed to be, not only am I helping others to heal and grow, I have noticed personal growth and I have learned to be patient with the process of growth,” Ivana said.

This space is exactly what we need in order to support each other as Black women,” she added.

Teylor Parks explains her excitement looking into the new year and introducing new events to the Tallahassee community.

As we continue to grow as a brand I believe we are focused on attracting more people that are looking to be in community with other creatives, we just have to make sure people know this safe space exists,” Parks said.
