Florida A&M softball took on the Florida State Seminoles for their eighth game of the season.
The two Tallahassee teams competed at JoAnne Graf Classic this past Thursday night where the Noles took home an 11-0 shutout win over the Rattlers.
Ashtyn Danley, a redshirt sophomore- who is a pitcher for the Seminoles, was a key player when in Thursday’s night win.
Danley pitched four innings and gave up zero runs, just one hit and walked two batters while striking out seven.
In addition to pitching, Danley contributed offensively, going 1-for-2 at the plate and scoring one run.
Seminole catcher Michaela Edenfield also drove in four runs, including a bases-clearing double in the first inning.
Outfielder Kennedy Harp also made significant contributions for the Noles, reaching base multiple times, and scoring runs that extended FSU’s lead.
FSU competes in the ACC for softball and has been one of the top teams for many years.
The Seminoles have won several conference titles and is a mainstay in the NCAA tournament. Their strong performances have made them one of the best softball programs in the country.
When it came to the other side of the bat, the Rattlers did face challenges.
Starting pitcher Amari Brown surrendered eight runs over three innings, while relievers Samantha Smith and Zoryana Hughes gave up additional runs.
Errors and wild pitches gave free Seminoles extra runs. The Rattler’s struggled to stop the Nole’s and could not get their offense started.
