Florida A&M University has long been committed to providing its students with a well-rounded education that extends beyond the boundaries of the traditional classroom. One of the shining examples of this commitment is the university’s Study Abroad Program.

This initiative broadens students’ cultural perspectives and enhances their academic and personal growth.

FAMU offers diverse study-abroad destinations catering to different academic interests and cultural preferences. Whether studying history in Rome, business in Austria, or environmental science in Germany, students can choose a program that aligns with their academic and personal goals.

Jordyn Johnson, a senior majoring in African American studies, sees the program as a way to bring history to life.

“History is more than just facts in a textbook; it’s the stories, cultures, and experiences of people worldwide. Studying abroad with FAMU will allow me to walk in the footsteps of historical figures and witness firsthand the impact of past events on different societies,” Johnson said.

One of the most rewarding aspects of studying abroad is immersing oneself fully in a new culture. From local cuisine and traditions to language and customs, students gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. The FAMU Study Abroad Program often includes a variety of authentic experiences that go beyond the classroom.

The FAMU Study Abroad Program is a gateway to a world of possibilities for students seeking a transformative educational experience. From broadening academic horizons to creating personal growth through cultural immersion, this program equips students with the skills and perspectives necessary to thrive in a fast globalized society.

As FAMU prioritizes international education, the Study Abroad Program remains essential to the university’s commitment to preparing students for success in an interconnected world.

Ariana Brown, a junior and study abroad hopeful, shared her enthusiasm for the program.

“Studying abroad is not just about earning credits; it’s about stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing the world firsthand,” Brown said.

FAMU’s Study Abroad Program is proof of the university’s commitment to providing students with experiences that go beyond FAMU and the classroom. Through this program, FAMU students can grow the skills needed to navigate an interconnected and ever-changing world.
