Florida A&M University’s annual Spring Preview was live and in full effect. Thousands of high school prospective students and parents from all over the United States crowded into FAMU’s Gaither Gymnasium for its annual Spring Preview 2023 on Saturday, March 25.

Which currently has over 3,080 registered participants!

This day was listed with a full day of fun activities and knowledgeable information for juniors, seniors, and transfer students starting at 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Spring preview is an annual event usually held on campus for future students interested in learning more about FAMU and its programs.

During the event, attendees can take campus tours, attend information sessions, meet with faculty members, and learn about the admissions process and financial aid options. The recruitment event featured speeches from President Larry Robinson, the beloved Royal Court student leaders, and administrators.

The incomparably Marching “100” Band entertained the gathering with several tunes. President Larry Robinson gave a speech to open their eyes and shine a light on the university’s greatness for those in attendance.

“Here at Florida A&M University, you will open new doors of opportunities. You will become a leader who will care about the progress of your families and your communities wherever you go,” Robinson said.

“You cannot make a better choice than coming to FAMU. Come rise with us.”

Upon arrival, everyone had a set schedule of activities, starting with registration. In other words, checking in at the Gaither Gymnasium lobby ensures everyone is where they should be.

After getting signed in, students gathered around some organizations, such as Orange and Green Guides and Orientation Leaders, for an academic department exhibit and campus tour.

An Orange and Green Guide member, Terrell Shealy, gave his thoughts on Spring Preview Day.

“It was an experience to welcome incoming freshmen to the campus and give them a peak of what it feels like to be a part of the college of love and charity,” Shealy said.

While tasting the highest of seven hills’ atmosphere, residence hall rooms were also available for viewing. Meanwhile, at Gaither, numerous workshops were available to parents and students.

Housing, financial aid, admissions, and even different organizations came out to speak to future rattlers. After walking up the hills around campus, once everyone returned to Gaither Gym; it was time for the official welcoming FAMU style, when attendees learned FAMU chants and strolls.

In closing remarks of the spring preview, students were reminded that the president of the Student Government Association, Zachary Bell, will be hosting Be Out Day where students come out to the football practice field to enjoy free food, drinks, student giveaways, sponsorship activations, and so much more!

Trinity Martin Orange and Green Guide members responded about how their day went with Spring Preview.

“It was a long morning of work, but in the end, it was worth it,” Martin said.

“The whole experience had all prospective students wanting to return for a real family experience.”

Before exiting and leaving the FAMU campus, students were welcomed to join the school for a Neophyte Presentation NPHC to welcome a new line in Greek life to campus formally.

Seeing The Alpha Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.’s new line gave the whole FAMU experience as these future rattlers’ eyes lit up by some of the performances they saw at the Neophyte.

This FAMU Spring Preview Day trip enabled students to join the fun on the hill.

As well as getting a sharp vision of seeing themselves on the highest of seven hills and becoming a member of the FAMUly.
