Geordan Sullivan, a 20-year-old hip-hop artist based in Tallahassee, has dreams and aspirations of becoming successful. Sullivan has a love for music that pushes him to be the best.
Sullivan is originally from Richmond Heights in Miami-Dade County, but he moved to Tallahassee because of Lively Technical College.
His mother and other family members have served as an inspiration for Sullivan. His brothers continue to support his journey in music.
“My inspirations in music comes from my brothers. I was never the one who was, ‘I’m going to be a rapper.’ I would listen to music and hear them rap all the time,” he said.
Although his inspirations have been effectively present throughout his life, the absence of his father affected him. It Sullivan to have a mindset of providing for his family.
His sister speaks to Sullivan’s personality as he grew up and his current state as a person.
“He is the funniest person that I know,” Urhonda Sullivan said.“He is also a great friend and is very loyal.”
He has an ambitious mindset which has caused Sullivan to avoid getting “stuck in the streets.” Instead of throwing his life away, he was able to start using his ambition to create music with a purpose.
Sullivan writes music to the best of his ability. With a structured creative flow, he can make quality music.
“I write as much as I can and separate the song that way,” Sullivan said. “I write about 12-16 lines a hook and start a verse and finish the rest in the studio.”
With a hunger to achieve, success is an obvious end goal for Sullivan. An end goal that even his friends can sniff out. His future also serves as his daily motivation.
“I see Geordan being a multi-millionaire by the age of 25-30 or maybe even in less time than that,” said Elijah Faustin, Sullivan’s friend from his hometown.
Sullivan aims for success and believes that a platform to promote his music would be social media, especially with today’s fascination with a digital presence. It has served as an effective way for Sullivan to promote his music and gain a following on streaming sites such as Soundcloud and Apple Music.
Sullivan will continue to work for success in his music career to provide for his family and, most of all, to solidify a calling that allows him to live his life without fear of jail.
