The Florida Lottery presented Bright Futures Ice Cream Social Thursday at Florida A&M.
The Florida Lottery hosts this event every year not only for current Bright Future Scholars, but for those interested in applying as well.
New student Orientation Director, Stephen Nance, explained these events are what drive the incoming freshman and current undergraduate students to want to continuously excel for more great opportunities.
This year’s Ice cream social was free to Bright Future Scholarship recipients as well as regular students on campus.
Erika Jones, third-year year Bright Futures scholar, expressed that this event was an amazing way for academically focused students with one major scholarship in common to get to know each other a bit better.
“Before I even knew what Bright Futures was I received a really cool University T-Shirt at a similar event they held on campus.” Jones said.
Florida Lottery gave away several prizes such as various gift cards, and a popular set of headphones.
