For people who are fans of lipstick colors, finding the hottest one for the fall can be challenging.
The more trendy looks from the popular lipstick company MAC range from a little red to a deep burgundy giving you that deep dark matte look circa 1920s.
“Colors to look for in the Au-Currant trends by MAC are ‘Diva’ and ‘Ruby Woo,’ and if you’re not into or can’t wear the dry lip look of matte textures then you can check out colors like ‘Cyber’ and ‘Rebel’ that have a satin texture,” said Jina Glover, assistant manager of the MAC Tallahassee kiosk in the Governor’s Square Mall.
There are also products for people with tight budgets who want to have a trendy pop of color. Wet’n Wild’s matte collection features colors such as “Cherry Bomb,” “Red Velvet” and “Bare It All.”
“I feel like red will always be a classic look and some of the colors I feel that the fall will bring are plums, browns and pale pinks,” said Kwanteria Dukes, a senior English student from Jacksonville. “I personally stay away from purchasing expensive lipsticks because I feel that ones like Wet’n Wild give just the same look you just have to reapply it more often.”
Darker colors on lips are also becoming a frequent look, said Nneka Katie Abara, a senior English student from Tallahassee.
“The hottest lip colors for the fall include subtle neutral tones and deep colors, from a matte or satin blood-orange finish to a glossy burgundy or wine-red liquid stain,” Abara said. “Any colors with deep pigments in the red family will be in, from MACs high-end options to Kiss Marie Cosmetics, and the Kate Moss Collection by Rimmel London that offers lipsticks with high intensity and a lasting finish without the high-end prices.”
