Football first win of the season

The Florida A&M University football team bounced back after two consecutive losses and got their first win of the 2012 season beating the Hampton Pirates 44-20.

James Owens rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. Owens’ exhilarating 56 yard sprint to the goal line in the 3rd quarter iced the game for the Rattlers giving them a 30-17 lead.

The Rattlers were efficient through the air as well as on the ground as QB Damien Fleming completed 22 out of 29 passes. Fleming hit five different receivers for 239 yards and three touchdowns in the Rattler’s home opener.

The Rattlers are back on the road next week in Dover, Del to take on the Delaware State Hornets.
