Florida A&M Trustee WIlliam Jennings called for a vote of “no-confidence” in FAMU President James H. Ammons in the fallout from the hazing death of Robert Champion and seven months of scrutiny to the university. The Board of Trustees is now discussing the motion.
Update 1:40pm: All but four trustees vote Yes to the motion of no-confidence against FAMU President James H. Ammons. The motion passes.
Ammons said: “I hear you loudly and clearly, I understand that there are some measures I have to take to fix things…. This is very serious for the future of this university. You have my commitment to fix them and get this job done.”
Update: The meeting is in a brief recess while the president confers with board members.
