The Florida A&M Essential Theatre presents The FAMU Connection: Seize the Day Performance tonight.
Operating under the artistic leadership of Luther Wells, the university-governed organization offers students the “bus and truck” tour experience.
The FAMU Connection, consist of a touring group of students which come from all over the university, giving a high energy performance of Broadway show tunes.
The FAMU Connection hold auditions every spring, and is open to all FAMU students.
Kimberly Harding, an associate professor of theatre encourages students to come out, and enjoy the show.
Harding said the FAMU Connection began under the administration of former President Frederick Humphries.
The FAMU Connection has been around for quite some time now, and every year it is expected to be just as amazing as the year before.
“They perform every year; it’s generally a new group of students, with the exception of one or two returning,” said Harding.
Harding has traveled with the FAMU Connection in the past and is looking forward to the performance tonight.
“Students who come out will be in for a high energy show, and they will enjoy it. It’s entertainment,” said Harding.
Harding believes students who come out will leave with more knowledge and understanding than before.
“They’ll find out a lot of things they didn’t know about the university.”
Doors open at 8 p.m. at the Charles Winter Wood Theater in Tucker Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
