Lori Fede placed first and Elizabeth Brown placed third at the Future Business Leaders of America District 3 competitions. The event was held at Godby High School. Both Lori and Elizabeth qualified to compete at the Florida FBLA State Leadership Confer-ence, which took place on March 24-26, 2002, in Orlando.At the State Leadership Conference, Mrs. Carolyn Hill was elected to another three-year term on the Florida FBLA Board of Directors and Ms. Raquista Claitt was also elected to a three-year term on the Florida FBLA Foundation Board of Directors. The Mock Trial Team placed third in the congressional district, which consists of the schools from the Big Bend area. They competed against Leon and Lincoln at the Florida Supreme Court on, and after their unfortunate defeat, were asked to assist other high schools in preparation for subsequent competitions.Tynishia Williams is one of 150 high school students in the nation to be invited to attend Brenau University’s two-week theatrical summer camp entitled, Firespark. The camp is held in June in Gainesville, Fla.SAT/ACT workshops take place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school. English, math, science and business education instructors are on hand for test preparation. SAT/ACT workbooks and software are also available, free of charge.
