The men’s and women’s swimming teams lost to Rollins College and the University of Tampa today in Winter Park. In men’s action, Albert Lowe had the only first-place finish when he clocked in at 5:16:19 in the 500-yard freestyle. Jonathan Smith finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.41.
FAMU lost to Rollins by a score of 47-39 while falling to Tampa by a 55-26 count.
In women’s action, the Rattlerettes failed to earn a first-place finish, but Onike Archer did touch second in the 100 fly with a time of 1:08:96 and Talia Hicks was also second in the 500 free at 6:00:53. The Rattlerettes lost to Rollins by a 74-11 mark and 49-24 to Tampa.
Both teams will be back in action on Dec. 1, when they travel to Jacksonville to face the University of North Florida at 3 p.m.
