Fresh 4 Less is the newest addition to the grocery options in town.
The grand opening weekend for the discount grocery store was Sept. 8-9, where they made their first sales at the crack of dawn on Saturday, Sept. 8.
After the massive closure all but one local Winn-Dixie in March, some of the stores such as the one located at 3813 North Monroe St. hav found a way reopening by a different vendor.
As a branch of the Piggly Wiggly food stores, Fresh 4 Less provides its customers with big savings. Due to everything being on sale every day, prices for food are some of the lowest in town. The store refers to its savings as power buys.

One of the workers named Adrianna provided an example of the in-store sales. “In some of the similar grocery stores they provide a deal of 5 meats for $19.99, whereas, here in Fresh 4 Less we offer a deal of 5 meats for $16.99.”
The savings are not the only perks that the store provides. Additional perks include serving breakfast from 7 to 10:00 a.m., at the bakery, deli and advanced food machines.
The bakery customizes cakes to order; also, bundt & layer cakes are available daily.
The deli includes a self-serve buffalo flavored hot wing bar, hot bar and a salad bar, including premium deli meats and cheeses.
The machines in Fresh 4 Less are not a usual find in stores in Tallahassee. The night supervisor, Faith, described the machines available in the store. “In our produce section there is a machine that you can insert your vegetables and it will cut it up for you. Also, we have the milkshake machine that also makes slushes.”
Individuals in the Lake Jackson area were excited for the opening, as they were at an inconvenience with no grocery stores available within a close vicinity to their homes. One customer, Chanelle Brown, said, “The store opened on Saturday and I couldn’t wait. I was tired of not having something around the corner from my house and prefer the location. So I am glad something has opened.”
It accepts all major credit cards, EBT, SNAP and WIC.
Fresh 4 Less store hours are Monday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The store number is 850-727-5881.
