Shocked. Appalled. Disgusted.
Those are the three words used to describe an email my friend opened on Sunday. He wanted to share the latest flick, which allegedly feature FAMU students.

I thought that he was talking about the typical gossip reports that seem to get passed around Florida A&M. Imagine the surprise when my eyes saw a young woman bent over engaging in lewd acts.

What have we come to? What has the state of our students come to? The college of love and charity has never been a place where such behavior is tolerated. The students who embarrassed the name of FAMU should be expelled.

According to the student code of conduct, “The President of the University or the Vice President for Student Affairs may expel, dismiss or suspend any student when the student’s conduct is detrimental to the university and involves disruption of the university process or is dangerous to the health, safety and morals of the University community.”

This incident certainly falls under the category of damaging the morals of FAMU. There is no room in this situation for moral ambiguity. There have been times where this university has tried to work with a student to ensure that in spite of their actions they can remain here. This should not be one of those times.

If a student makes the decision to have sex that is their business. If a student makes the decision to have sex on tape that business becomes public. If a student makes the decision to have sex on tape, place it on the worldwide Web and then attach FAMU’s name or mascot to it-that becomes the business of the university.

If these people are FAMU students and this is not a prank, then the university community must make haste to make sure that the integrity of FAMU is preserved. FAMU has always exemplified excellence with caring. The actions of these students show that they do not care about the way this university is perceived and thus should not be a part of it.

How dare the university community sit back and watch our beloved FAMU become the laughing stock of the media. Allowing incidents such as this to tear at the moral fabric of FAMU will make this familiar institution an unfamiliar place-a place where we become apathetic and cavalier to the actions of a few that damage the whole.

Disclaimer: The Famuan has not verified that the students in the circulated video are FAMU students. However, people who said they were FAMU students in the video were interviewed, but would not go on record about their participation.

People are people. We all have different ideas and standards of morality. Unless it is a private school, no-one should be expelled. Being associated with a public organization or school should not infringe on one's civil liberties. If someone wants to be a whoe, porn star or whatever, that is totally independent of being a student at a public university and having skank students does not necessarily reflect on the school because morality is never a consideration upon application at a public school.

It is one thing to spoof something and another to deliberately misrepresent. No one is lead to believe that what happens of Saturday Night Live or other venues is REAL. I don't think Coke would let anyone get away with selling fake products which claimed to be the real thing. FAMU has to lay down the law and keep pathetic frauds from profiting off the name of the University. Otherwise this will be the beginning of many more.

I cannot believe all the chatter about this. If you look deep into adult everything from star trek to the brady bunch has been spoofed. If people really believe it's of the best interest of the school to spend money on a lawsuit, then that really raises another set of questions. Did the owners of those other shows sue? Isn't a form of flattery to be spoofed?

I think everyone needs to realize, sex is a part of life- while group sex is not the norm, it doesn't make it wrong. Let me guess no FAMU students have premarital sex. Come on.

Feel free to remove the phrase "college students" from the title heading since it has been discovered that those are not FAMU students...

I watched this video tape. I sat and watched (so-called students) perform acts that would have my mother blush. Sex is a part of life and it's gonna be here until the end of time but to put yourself out on front street like a piece of meat is ridiculous. I keep reading that they are not students......I have seen three of the participants here on campus. I don't know if they were/are visiting or what but there presence is known. I saw only one person put on a condom and the rest just went at it like rabbits in heat. Since the tape has been released, two of the young ladies have gone on to say......"I have no privacy now. I wish people would leave me alone. People(guys) are saying some cruel things to me......hmmmmmm....boo-boo....u got your business out on front street. I do not feel sorry for you at all. You play with the big dogs, you come up with fleas!

FAMU Sextape was the 6th most searched term on Google, everyone is not going to see the correction that it was not FAMU so damage to the university image has been done. THE UNIVERSITY NEEDS TO SUE EVERYONE INVOLVED FOR DEFAMATION!!!!

It's definitely not FAMU. Two of the so called students in the FAMU clips are also featured in other school clips. Somebody should definitely be sued.

I agree. As a Paddyfote resident, my room is barely big enough for both my roommate and I, let alone a group of students. Another authenticity issue is the exclamation "Be quiet, the principal might hear us!" I'm not exactly sure what college has a principal-but it's not FAMU. I may not love it here, but I won't hear of the university I matriculate through get an undeserved name. The saddest part, however, is that there are many more things that need reform-but this sex tape takes precedence over all of it.

You need to exercise your investigation skills and read the intro to the site www.daredorm.com where the video is posted. The site specifically states:

13. All performers are given the opportunity to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases at no charge to them within a reasonable amount of time before their performance. All activity is arranged and discussed in advance of filming and every effort is made to insure the health and safety of the performers and to ensure that their performance is a pleasant and enjoyable experience;

Please fix this article and redeem yourself for jumping the gun and assuming that these were FAMU students and not performers.

ALSO: It wasn't even recorded in Tallahassee it was in MIA.

9. I agree that by entering this website, I am subjecting myself, and any business entity in which I have any legal or equitable interest, to the personal jurisdiction of the State of Florida, Miami-Dade County, should any dispute arise at any time between this website, myself and/or such business entity;

Feel free to verify all the information at their website, www.daredorm.com under the heading:
"Please read and comply with the following conditions before you continue:"

You don't even have to consent to the porn site to see this admission!

Thanks

They picked on schools from all over the country, not just FAMU. The website list schools from TAMPA(USF) California, ect. If you go to their site you can see what I am taking about. www.daredorm.com They are all fake videos! There are actually 17 supposed college sex videos, 16 of which are of white student actors. Their website also list before you can see any video that the scenes are staged and permission was granted before the sexual act occurred.

I do not go to FAMU and know it is a school with a good name, the name has not changed since the incident, I do believe such people should be found and persecuted for their rediculous antics, however the one question people need to ask is if it was not FAMU students then why did they pick FAMU? why not another school like state? It seems from the video to be some school so...

They are NOT FAMU students!! It should be obvious....for one, NOBODY else happened to walk in to the bathrooms. We all know that even at 4:00 A.M. on a Wednesday, SOMEBODY else is going to walk in. Two, there's no way in hell you're gonna sneak in that many girls to a boy's dorm or vice versa, and have them make that much noise in there (in a sexual manner at that) without ANYBODY coming to check on it. Third, NOBODY knows them!! Not a single one of them is a registered student...throwing some Gut boxes in a video doesn't make it our students automatically.

No knock to the editorial staff, but this should have been screened before published...because people can easily say "yes it was FAMU students, even their newspaper article said it was!!"

Though I haven't been to FAMU since graduation about 7 years ago, I can't imagine a dorm bathroom only having 2 stalls. IDK. A lto has changed since left.
I do agree to expel these girls if they are indeed students.
