Getting high-end food while your kids play arcade games just got simpler.

A new 17,000-square-foot entertainment venue near Bannerman Crossing in northeast Tallahassee offers bowling, arcade games, a full restaurant and a bar.

The name, Hangar 38, pays homage to the shopping center’s owner, Rick Kearney, who owns a private helicopter.

Hangar 38 welcomes guest of all ages. Children are most excited by the large arcade games like the Connect Four Hoops, Flappy Bird and pinball machines. Adults are also invited to play games, but they are offered a full bar where they can order drinks and hang out.

“I can’t wait to plan a date at Hangar 38 with my friends,” exclaimed Tatyana Berry.

Manager Ryan Flurry said, “We tried to target every age group in order to be successful. That’s why we have a great menu, a full bar with specialty drinks, the top arcade games and a top of the line bowling alley. So far every age group has been there and it offers something for everyone.”

Hangar 38 is comparable to Dave and Busters with its food and entertainment but is different because it offers high-end food items that are not usually offered at a normal arcade or bowling alley.

“I have been here twice this month. The first time I came with my mom and then I invited my friends to come and we had so much fun,” said local teen Kalon Richardson.

The Bannerman Crossing location, 6668 Thomasville Road, is currently the only location, but the owners’ have said their goal is to expand. They plan to open another location in the Tallahassee area and eventually branch out to other cities.

The official grand opening will take place Saturday and the owners welcome everyone in the area to check out a venue unlike any other in the capital city.

“It’s been extremely exciting knowing that we have a great concept that appeals to everyone and we are extremely happy that all the hard work we put in to get this place up and running has had such a positive response even before the grand opening. We look forward to seeing you at our establishment,” said Flurry.
