Queens Like Me hosted a free vision board party on Saturday. This event was located at the Oasis Center for Women and Girls.

Robyn Daniels founded the organization 18 months ago. A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a life goal.

A vision board has different types of images that represent what you want to be, do or have in your life. This is a creative way to motivate young women to become better in their everyday life.

“ I think this is a good, positive thing to do with my daughter. So, I brought my 13 year old to enjoy and do a vision board,” said Alicia Wellman.

It is important for women to know that they are the only ones in control of their future. As long as you put in the hard work the effort will always be rewarded. This is a great way to create the “new you” and remember your aspirations in life.

Queen Like Me provided the poster boards, supplies, snacks and refreshments. The guests brought their own magazines with the intentions of having a good time. Queens Like Me welcome all young women who want to join and participate in inspiring activities.

“I just moved to Tallahassee. I was looking for a group of women that had a vision with the idea of moving forward in life. I want that kind of mindset,” said Rebecca Nelcy.

Queens Like Me is a financial empowerment organization that connects women of color to resources designed to encourage life visioning, improve financial security and promote and increase businesses development.

“At first the purpose was to bring together like-minded women for social and educational events and networking. It’s evolving now to a life visioning, financial organization for millennial woman,” said Daniels.

Queens Like Me hosts several vision board parties, educational classes, social events and workshops to help enhance the mindset of women. This organization provides resources to help woman in achieving their personal development and financial goals.
