Tallahassee residents are being encouraged to come out to shop, eat and enjoy everything local. C-Media Marketing & Productions and Terrance L Barber LLC will host the inaugural Small Business Sunday Pop-Up Shop at Café Taverna from 2-6 p.m. on Nov. 25.
The Sunday Pop-Up Shop is expected to encourage residents to think big and shop small this holiday season, furthering the shop small, ovement in the Tallahassee area.
The Small Business Sunday Pop-Up Shop extravaganza was formed from the idea of shop local Saturday – an annual holiday shopping tradition that is always held on the Saturday afterThanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. The event gets communities everywhere out in support of their favorite small businesses.
Event coordinator Chelse Collins says making a small purchase during this event can make a big difference in our community.
“We encourage the community to skip the long lines and crowded malls and help boost the local economy by making a purchase from small business owners,” said Collins. “Anyone who comes out to this event will be doing more than supporting businesses. They are helping local families thrive.”
Small Business Sunday Pop-Up Shop will be the first of its kind to happen in the Tallahassee area, but it will not be your average pop-up shop.
The event will feature dozens of small and minority-owned business owners who will showcase and sell a variety of items from handmade clothing to handcrafted artwork. Attendees will have the chance to shop for one-of-kind gifts.
Terrance Barber says helping small business owners is the mission behind his brand.
“The Small Business Pop-Up Shop is a spin-off of my free monthly community event Working Class Wednesday,” said Barber. “The goal for both events is to connect people in the community and help build brand awareness for small business owners.”
Both Barber and Collins say entry is free and the first 25 guests will receive a complimentary gift bag, while Cafe Taverna will offer drink and food specials.
