Venvi Art Gallery showcases Tallahassee artists

Brinda Pamulapti was interested in patterns, textures and colors at a young age.  Her growing interest for art led to the creation Venvi Art Gallery, located at 2091 E. Park Ave.

The 43-year-old owner and mother of two was born and raised in South India.  She moved to Tallahassee with her husband, Veernag Pamulapati, in 1999.  Her two sons were born here, and Tallahassee became her home.

Pamulapti opened Venvi Art Gallery in November 2015.  “I wanted to give a platform for the quality artists in the city and draw people to the city because we have very professional artists and they deserve at least one platform to show them all in one place,” said Pamulapti.

The Venvi Art Gallery has displayed the works of many well-known artists including Leon Hicks, Christina Klein and Julie Bowland.

Pamulapti does not only show other artists’ work, but her own as well.  Pamulapti is a painter and has shown many of her art collections in the gallery.  She displayed her collection titled Texture in Color in April and May.  “I loved art from when I was young.  I was always interested in patterns and textures,” added Pamulapti.

Pamulapti said that the gallery would not have been there if it wasn’t for the support of her husband.

“My husband had a major part in getting this gallery done. He researched about galleries and he physically did all the work in the gallery,” said Pamulapti.

Veernag Pamulapati was more than happy to support his wife. “I feel grateful for having the opportunity to set up this gallery and be part of the creative culture,” he said.

The Venvi Art Gallery is busiest during the First Fridays each month.  Pamulapati says a little bit of everyone comes to the gallery to see new art.  They serve hors d’oeuvres and wine for their visitors.

The gallery is currently displaying artist Christina Klein’s collection Back Again.

The Venvi Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information, visit www.VenviArtGallery.com or call (850)322-0964.
