Taco Republik: Not your typical taco

Are you looking for a taco spot with quality and affordable tacos? If so, Taco Republik is the place to visit.

The Mexican restaurant is known for its variety of tacos, quesadillas and other Tex-Mex style food for more than four years at the Manor @ Midtown on Thomasville Road.

Each dish is made perfectly with their freshest ingredients, which sets them apart from some of the growing number of taco restaurants in town.

The restaurant is casual and modern. It is a great place to grab lunch on the go or simply enjoy lunch date with a friend. The seating arrangements of the high top tables and booths complement the theme of the restaurant, which gives off an island vibe. If you enjoy fresh air while eating, there is also a seating area located outside facing Thomasville Road.

The menu offers several Mexican choices, such as starters, soup and salad, burritos, quesadillas, and traditional tacos that are all under $10. The fan favorite taco is called the “James Camerones,” and it includes lightly fried shrimp, sweet chili-lime aioli, lettuce and black bean-mango salsa.

What would a Mexican restaurant be without Taco Tuesday and happy hour? Yes, Taco Republik serves two tacos for $6 every Tuesday and happy hour all day every day from 3-7 p.m..

I made it for Taco Tuesday and ordered the 2 tacos deal for $6. The tacos were called the “Pollo” and the “Americano.” These included blackened chicken, ground beef, chipotle aioli, lettuce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. Served with complimentary side of chips and salsa. The fresh ingredients of the tacos were mouthwatering and full of flavor. If your more on the spicy side, try out the salsa bar that offers fresh lime, pico de gallo, house-made pickles, cilantro and pickled jalapeños.

The customer service was welcoming and quick. The server acknowledged all customers upon arrival. The restaurant was spotless. It also offers delivery through Bite Squad. Taco Republik is a flavorful and inexpensive spot you won’t regret visiting.
