Warren Elected Chair of FAMU BOT

Newly appointed Board of Trustees Chairman, Cleve Warren

The Florida A&M University Board of Trustees voted unanimously Friday morning 10-0 to elect Cleve Warren as the new Chair of the board.

This comes after the resignation of Rufus Montgomery as board chair on  Oct. 23.

Montgomery did not vote and left Friday’s teleconference after he voiced objections to Warren leading the board

This is the first meeting with the complete BOT since the contentious Oct. 22 conference call when there were two failed attempts to fire FAMU President Elmira Mangum.

Cleve Warren was appointed to the BOT in 2012. He is a chief financial officer for Florida State College in Jacksonville.
