When I hit 20 years old, I was ecstatic to call myself  “a grown women.” Now that I am turning 23-years-old, it is clear to me that there are few things that I may not have mastered years ago, but are pertinent tips to keep me flawless forever. Since we are not getting any younger, we need to work at making our youthful days last a lifetime. I conjured up a list of 10 tips to help you stay timeless even after your 20s.

1. Network your Networth.

“It is not about what you know but who you know,” said some extremely wise individual. The more people you interact with, the more you are exposed to opportunities and potential for success in both your career and in your personal life.

2. Read. Often.

There is nothing more productive than taking the time to read. Read anything you can, every chance you get. There are books on a plethora of subjects you may be interested in. From current news, nonfiction, fiction, career advice, self-help books—anything!

3. Take care of your body.

No matter what you do in your life, you will do it in your body. So it would be a good idea to select healthier food eat healthy, exercise often, and construct a daily routine to cleanse your skin and MOISTURIZE! General health care is something that later in life, you will be glad you considered in your 20s.

4. Pay attention to your mental health and well-being.

The mind, just as everything else, has the features of a muscle. If you do not utilize it early and often you will slowly lose it. You use it, or lose it. And as long as you are using it, it will remain fit and healthy. The minutes you stop using it, it will decay and rust.

5. Learn something new and excel at it.

Generation Y is always geared toward following our passion, it is imperative to master a new set of skills. Work on something that can be used to benefit you within the field you are passionate about.

6. Create and maintain good habits.

The worst part of making new habits is actually getting started. Once you have began, you just have to stick to it. Small daily changes could have a huge impact on your life in the future.

7. Plan out your finances and budget.

Have a seat and reflect on where you are spending your money. Stay away from maxing out your credit cards, and not saving your money.

8. Travel.

Now that we are not tied down with obligation and free to roam the earth, see the world. Experience new lifestyles, countries and difficulties. You will gain knowledge on things from other countries that you can take back home.

9. Keep in touch with your loved ones.

Remember the small things such as important dates, birthdays, and as often as you can make it back home for the holidays. Your family and real friends will be the ones that you can always count on for support. Small gestures go a long way.

10. Figure out what you really want out of life.

Your 20s has a way of trapping us into being consumed with everything else that is going on in life. We often forget to actually take a moment to realize what we truly want. So take some time to plan your work then work your plan.
