Florida A&M University fourth-year pharmacy student, Kehinde Idowu, third-year english student, Wendell Jean-Mary and his brother Florida State University (FSU) second-year biology student, Neptune Jean-Mary created “Positive Feedback”, an organization dedicated to giving back to those in need.
The organization was created after the trio realized they wanted to do charitable works for the community they reside in.
Neptune Jean-Mary expressed that it is always good in giving back.
“What’s a better way to do good for your community than giving back?” Jean-Mary said.
Positive Feedback, held a Thanksgiving food drive in the past where Tallahassee residents donated canned goods. The goods were taken to a pantry at a neighborhood park where families from all over town came to pick them up.
The organization also held a back-to-school drive at Nimms Middle School, and provided school supplies such as backpacks, pencils and notebooks to 200 children.
“Our future is bright,” said Idowu. “We plan to hold another back-to-school drive this year. This time we hope to help every student in the school versus our first year goal of 200 students.”
Positive Feedback is currently working on setting up a scholarship fund for students with a grade point average lower than 3.0.
These students will have to prove they have shown significant growth in their studies over a two semester period.
Wendell Jean-Mary expressed that the organization promotes positivity for any circumstance.
“This creates a cycle where it’s conducive to be a positive influence on other’s lives. Positive thoughts plus positive actions equals Positive Feedback,” Wendell Jean-Mary said.
