Healthy Eating in the Capital City

The City of Tallahassee has more than 20 restaurants that are offering organic and vegetarian-friendly menus.

New Leaf Market Co-op, Muscle Maker Grill and Soul Vegetarian Restaurant and Catering are just a few places that offer vegetarian meals.

Other restaurants have added vegetarian dishes to their menus to promote healthy living.

Trainer and Fitness Coach, Parnell "Splack" Williams, believes that Tallahassee is doing a good job at spreading the awareness of eating healthy and staying fit.

“I definitely believe that the City of Tallahassee is doing a great job with spreading the healthy and active lifestyle," Williams said. “A lot of companies and gyms around town are offering many different deals to get more people involved in being healthy and staying healthy.”

Michael Settineri, manager of Muscle Maker Grill Manager, explained how the restaurant promotes healthy eating in Tallahassee.

“We make it easy for people to eat healthy and to live a healthy lifestyle,” Settineri said. “A lot of people feel like healthy eating is inconvenient and with our restaurant we give you so many different avenues and choices.”

Breiona Stallings, fourth-year physical therapy student at Florida State University, is eager to see what new healthy improvements the city has in way.

“I know the city is trying hard to promote healthy eating with the many new restaurants and grocery stores and I hope they keep it up,” Stallings said.
