Florida A&M University [FAMU] Rattlers’ football team are having a bit of a challenge in securing their first win of the season.
The Rattlers’ are recovering from their fourth straight loss against the Tennessee State Tigers 30-14.
Head Coach Alex Wood admits that it can get a little tough to keep the spirits high. However, the coaching staff strives to keep a positive outlook and continue to work toward making improvements.
“I talk to the guys pretty frankly and encourage them to not turn on each other but turn to each other for confidence and strength and understand what our issues are,” Wood said. “I tell them to lets help each other and elevate our play that way, and move forward.”
Curtis Alexander, junior Linebacker from Quincy, Fla., having nine solo tackles and a total of 13 tackles last game, is hopeful for a positive turnaround for the remainder of the season.
“First and foremost, we’re working extremely hard in practice each and everyday correcting the errors from previous games. Each and everyday is an opportunity to get better and we’re not taking those days for granted,” Alexander said. “We still have a long season ahead of us and we’re all on the same page with a positive attitude.”
The Rattlers plan to bounce back this Saturday against the Savannah State Tigers who have yet to win a game.
Junior redshirt quarterback, Carson Royal, said his expectations and plans for improvement for Saturday’s game against Savannah State are simple: “Win".
