Florida A&M University student Michelle Coleman, 21, died this morning after suffering from bullet wounds while at a party in Miami 's Overtown neighborhood Monday morning.

According to police, three armed men dressed in all black opened fire on the crowd at 12:45 a.m. hitting 12 people, including Coleman. Coleman was the first injured partygoer to die from the shooting spree while others still remain hospitalized.

According to police, one woman has been released.Coleman was shot three times in the chest, kidney and liver, according to Larry Coleman, the victim's uncle.

He said his niece enjoyed working with children this summer.

"She loved kids and enjoyed her job at the daycare," Larry said.

FAMU student Rodney Thompson, 24, a criminal justice student from Miami described Coleman as a loving and brave woman.

"She had a good heart and was a strong person…she knew how to make the best out of a bad situation," Thompson said.

Coleman's last Facebook status on July 3 said, "I stretch my hands to thee, Lord let your will be done."

So far, there has been no word of a candlelight vigil to be held at FAMU.

The Miami Police Department are still searching for suspects and urging anyone with information to come forward and call (305) 579-6530 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.

Black on Black crime has killed far more blacks the KKK could have ever imagined and hoped for. People like to say that death makes no sense, but I ask what sense could it make? Its a shame that this womans life was cut short all because thugs emulating society view of MANHOOD and MASCULINITY chose to act out this way. It is truly a sad statement on not only the society we live in and our generation but the black community. Where are our hereos? Who do we look up to? Is it goons, goblins, and ghosts like Plies and whatever ex con turned rapper? Or is it men and women of stature and standing who are champions for equality and tolerance and peace. You have college students wanting to be thugs instead of modeling themselves after Cornell West and Bell Hooks.

May this beautiful young woman who thought it not robbery to bless the FAMU community with her attendance REST IN PEACE!!!!!

R.I.P - Michelle...I know your with the father....If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." ~~Proverbs 14:12~~ As we console bereaved families everywhere, let us strive to honor God--continually consecrating ourselves through fasting and prayer, Lord God Almighty, please let us be ready when Jesus comes! God is yet faithful--how faithful are we to God?
