Guilty plea from former FAMU administrator

Former Florida A&M University administrator, Patricia Walker McGill pleads guilty to stealing federal grant money from the university. McGill was said to have stole more than $100,000 in grant money from the U.S. Education Department for personal use. Yesterday afternoon McGill officially withdrew her not guilty plea after two days of allegations and witness testimony. Sentencing will take place on Oct 1, McGill faces up to 75 in prison and fines of $1.75 million.

Very unfortunate.
In the end its never worth it. The gains are always temporary.

As a Alumnus it is disturbing to me as a proud FAMUAN for someone to take advantage like that which is greed. Then to try an deny at 1st but the evidence is overwhelming. (Continued…)

This is very disappointing but FAMU has the tendency to hire thieves rather than qualified candidates who are willing to build the administration rather than tear it down and apart. (Continued…)

I am astonished, appalled, and disgusted that there are people taking advantage of monies coming into the University. As an alumnus of this great learning institution called Florida A&M University, I can't conjure up the words to describe my true feelings of this woman and the many people who stood by and allowed her unethical practices to continue based on the grounds of "job security". I hope they give her the maximum amount they can give her and also make her repay every dime she took.
One day FAMU gonna realize that in the hiring process to stop hiring they nigga cousins and aunts rather than qualified candidates that is not Family. (Continued…)

Very very sad. I believe, as apart of her punishment, she should have to address and apologize directly to the students of Florida A & M. For it is them that suffer the most in the end. (Continued…)

I am disappointed, but I have to agree with some of the above comments- check those HR files, hire competent individuals, and there's no doubt in my mind there are more crooked people who have yet to be called out. (Continued…)
