After what may have seemed like more than two years, the highly anticipated album “It’s Only Me” by Lil Baby has finally been released, and it turns out that it is, indeed, only Lil Baby.

The multi-platinum artist went viral on social media just a day after the album’s release once many listeners noted all 23 tracks of the album took the top 23 spots on apple music, making him the only artist in the top 20 alone.

“It’s Only Me” first-day streams came out to a total of 70 million, putting the artist at no. 1 and the most streamed artist on Spotify in the US that Friday.

According to Chart Data, the album is also set to debut at no.1 on the US albums chart with 213k units for its first week. It marks Lil Baby’s biggest debut ever.

The album has a total of eight features, including artists Young Thug, Nardo Wick, Future, Est gee, Rylo Rodriguez, Jeremih, Pooh Shiesty, and Fridayy.

Since the album’s release, Baby has been featured in more than ten interviews, an in-store CD signing in his hometown of Atlanta, an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and is celebrating with an album release party this Friday.

In a recent interview with the Breakfast Club, an American syndicated radio show based in New York, Baby explains why he chose to put 23 songs on the album and why he felt it took a while for its release.

“That’s the reason I put out a lot ’cause I haven’t been out,” Baby said. “I think because I dropped my last album right before Covid, so that was like a year that I wasn’t going to drop nothing and coming out of Covid trying to get myself together and back working.”

Baby’s previous album, “My Turn” was released in 2020.

Baby also states that he wishes to drop some more music for his listeners in a little under a year.

“I plan on dropping again in like nine or ten months, something like that,” Baby said.

As the album continues to thrive globally, nine of the 23 tracks remain in the top 20 songs on Apple Music as popstar Taylor Swift’s new release of the year dropped on October 21.

The track “Forever” featuring Fridayy remains at number one for top songs on Apple Music.
