Is the iPhone 14 worth the buy?

Apple has finally announced their anticipated iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max.

It comes with a few differences than its older models, such as crash detection, a 48-megapixel wide camera, updated battery life (an hour longer than the iPhone 13), and emergency SOS via satellite connectivity.

The iPhone 14 and 14 plus are about the same size as the iPhone 13, while the 14 pro is about 5.81 inches tall and 2.81 inches wide, and the pro max is 6.33 inches tall and 3.05 inches wide.

The iPhone 14 and 14 plus come in purple, blue, red, white, and black. The 14 Pro and Pro max come in silver, gold, space black, and deep purple.

While the new phone’s release comes with much excitement with new features and colors, I don’t think it is currently worth the buy. The new features of the iPhone 14 are not extremely different from their older counterparts.

One of the biggest differences between the iPhone 13 and 14 is the main camera, which jumps from 12MP to 48MP. The iPhone 14 also has a 2x telephoto option, but the zoom is still the same as the iPhone 13.

The colors are also different, as the iPhone 14 models no longer have a pink and green option and have opted back in for the blue (or greenish) and purple colors from the iPhone 11, which was released back in 2019.

Besides the camera, the iPhone 13 and 14 are extremely similar, all sharing a similar size, storage, and battery life.

Another big change to note is that the iPhone 14 lacks a SIM card tray on all models, which can be problematic to iPhone users who use smaller phone provider companies that can’t support the feature.

If the camera or phone color are not important cellphone features to you, then you are better off keeping your current model or upgrading to an older iPhone model such as the iPhone 13, as they are likely to drop in price after the 14’s release.

Many other price deals for older models will probably come when the iPhone 14 is finally released. If you are someone who shops secondhand, this will undoubtedly be a better option than upgrading to the iPhone 14.
