Jordan Middleton is a graduating senior at Florida A&M University majoring in health science. She will be graduating in the spring. She is from a small town in Kansas, which was first known as the Buffalo Capital of the World, but is now known as Dodge City.

While Middleton would love to become a flight attendant and travel, her main goal is to obtain her doctorate.

“I enjoy sports and being around athletes,” Middleton said. “So, I am eager to obtain my doctorate in physical therapy and work for a professional team until opening my own practice.”

At FAMU Middleton has been an active member of Big Sister Little Sister mentoring program, SISTUHS Inc., Black Women in Medicine, and the Women’s Student Union. Being an active member in BSLS, Middleton received the opportunity to become a Keeper of Kindred for the first junior and senior council class Taking Big Steps.

Her mother, Carole Middleton, wife of William Middleton, a former defensive line coach for FAMU, said, “If I were to describe Jordan’s character, I would say that she is very trustworthy and dependable. She is very dedicated at times and can be focused when she wants to be.”

She is passionate about roller-skating and numerous outdoor activities. She sings karaoke and is a natural social butterfly. She describes it as her bread and butter. She also enjoys staying indoors.

Middleton’s younger sister, Kennedy Middleton, describes her sister as organized and making everyone feel welcome.

“She’s always volunteering to plan events for our church or host events for her friends,” Kennedy said. “I would also say that Jordan is very considerate. She is always making sure everyone feels included and seen.”

The Middleton household is proud of Jordan’s accomplishments and caring nature. They always enjoy spending time with her. The family was able to create some of their special memories with this future physical therapist.

“My favorite memory with Jordan was this last Thanksgiving,” Middleton’s mother said. “We were bonding in the kitchen, while cooking, and I really feel like I connected with her on another level.”

Middleton’s sister always looks forward to the holidays because it is even more special.

“My favorite memory with Jordan is watching Christmas movies with her and my mom,” she said. “It’s always been a tradition that we do the day after Thanksgiving and I always look forward to spending quality time with them.”

Coming from a Christian household, Middleton lives by this bible verse coming from Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“This verse reminds me to always trust in God because He knows what’s best for me and will always bless me exceedingly abundantly,” she said.
