As the weather begins to chill and we enter the third quarter of the year, fall is finally here.

A new slew of activities have become available. So, to fulfill the excitement of the autumn season, here is a list of fall dates to try in Tallahassee.

  1. Pumpkin patch

During the fall season, social media is flooded with pumpkin patch photos. It is a simple, yet fun outing to enjoy with your significant other or friends. It is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature. You could also tap into your creative side and incorporate pumpkin carving and decorating.

If you want to take this date a little further, you can even find pumpkin pie recipes to try with your partner.

     2. Visit a farmers’ market

Conveniently, Tallahassee is home to more than one farmers’ market. The primary one is located on Kerry Forest Parkway, and is only open one day a week, Saturday. It is open between 8 a.m. and noon. So, if you’re looking for an early, weekend date idea, this is perfect for you. There are vendors selling a little bit of everything.

On the market’s website, it states, “It is a Year-round Market with over 25 vendors with a wide selection of items for sale. Currently located at Kerry Forest Pkwy and Thomasville Road, our market is a place to support your local farms and be a part of a thriving market.”

Usually, you can find fresh fruits, vegetables, popcorn, peanuts, candy apples and other enjoyable snacks.

   3. Bonfire and smores

Bonfires are the perfect solution for warming up from the chilly weather. A large open-air fire is great for celebrations and sometimes used as bonding events. And what better way to add a sweet touch than making s’mores. S’mores are quick snack sandwiches. The outside is graham crackers with toasted marshmallows and melted chocolate on the inside.

This is a great way to make fun conversation and enjoy great treats. I can remember my first time trying S’mores with my family. It was a great experience and it became a tradition that I can now share with my college friends.

   4. Bookstore and coffee

If you’re not into nature, here’s a great indoor date that you can enjoy:

Tallahassee has a lot of local bookstores with cafés. To name a few, Barnes & Noble, Midtown Reader and Books-A-Million. This date is the perfect idea for conversation and maybe trying new fall flavors of your favorite coffee.

Finding new books and having caffeine can be a great date idea this fall.
