As the third week of classes start, many students on campus have coursework in their classes and are still getting adjusted to juggling academics with their social and private lives. Florida A&M University does everything it can to facilitate student achievement and there are numerous resources on campus to assist students with their success on campus.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center supports students dealing with personal, academic and emotional challenges in their lives. It is accessible to all enrolled FAMU students and is open from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Licensed counselors in the office provide guidance for issues with relationships, drug usage, academic support, depression and anxiety. They also offer many types of aid, including solo, couples and group counseling.

The Career Center has a list of other resources on its website to help students in their job search. From job sites to help videos, the Career Center does everything it can to help provide for students. The Career Center is in the CASS building, suite 309, and is open from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays.

Math Center

The Math Center gives tutoring to students having problems in math. They provide support for college algebra, statistics, calculus, liberal arts and trigonometry classes. The center offers tutoring both in person and on Zoom with a scheduled appointment.

All the tutors in the center are STEM majors that are familiar with the coursework in these subjects. It is open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and is located in rooms 105 and 106 of the Jackson Davis Hall.
