Are the Obamas still on the same page?

If you’ve ever paid attention to President Barack Obama, you’ve likely seen his wife Michelle and his kids alongside him. For the past several years, Barack and Michelle have supported former Vice President Biden during his bid to become president.

However, toward the end of the election, Barack seemed to be campaigning for Biden by himself.

On Tuesday, Barack published his memoir, “A Promised Land,” which he dedicated to his wife and kids. Recently, Barack spoke about his memoir and the negative effects that being president had on his marriage.

“I could understand her frustration … she wasn’t the one who chose this life,” he said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Could this be why Michelle has been so absent from the spotlight lately?

In the interview with Winfrey, Barack also spoke about their road to recovering their marriage. After serving his second term, the couple did many things to rekindle their romance, like going on spontaneous dates or simply sleeping in late.

Since Barack’s first political venture, Michelle has been by his side. In 2018, she released her own memoir, Becoming. The book was paired with a Netflix documentary, which details the story of Obama and what it was like on her journey to becoming the first lady.

On Instagram, Michelle promoted Barack’s new memoir with the caption:

“Barack’s memoir, A Promised Land, comes out on Tuesday, and I can’t wait for you all to read it,” she wrote. “And on a personal level, I can’t wait for him to experience what I did after my memoir was published.”

Regardless of Michelle’s physical appearance at Barack’s rallies, she continued to promote the importance of voting and share her support for the Biden-Harris team. Consequently, Michelle had some comments on President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in an Instagram post.

“I have to be honest and say that none of this was easy for me,”Michelle said. “Donald Trump had spread racist lies about my husband that had put my family in danger. That wasn’t something I was ready to forgive. But I knew that, for the sake of our country, I had to find the strength and maturity to put my anger aside.”

While it’s unknown whether Michelle slowly stopped rallying with Barack due to COVID-19 or she was simply tired of politics, it’s obvious that she has always made many sacrifices when it came to politics.
