If you have natural hair, you know wash day can truly last all day. By the time I’m done detangling, washing, detangling some more and styling, my lavatory looks more like a laboratory. Finding affordable natural hair care products that gets the job done, can be a struggle for my thick, 4C hair.

In a desperate attempt to cut down my detangling time, I searched on youtube for videos of Black women with similar hair patterns to mine revealing their wash day secrets. Seeing a modern day miracle unfold on my computer screen, as a girl with 4C hair easily caressed the comb through her luscious coils, I immediately got in my car and went to Walmart where I only spent $4.99 on a lifesaver! I had to try out more of Aussie’s “Miracle Curls Collection,” for myself.

For starters, this co-wash smells like love. But most importantly, it’s extremely affordable and gets the job done insanely well. You can find this product at Walmart, Target or order it online from Amazon. It has the perfect amount of slip making it super easy to get the comb through my tresses. This co-wash has probably become my favorite part of wash day as I detangle my hair with this product before rinsing it out and conditioning.  It’s super nourishing to my strands and gets product build-up off my scalp well. If you’re not a fan of using shampoo on your hair every week because you don’t want to strip your hair of it’s healthy oils, implementing this co-wash into your hair care routine will change the game.

Out of all the products I tried, the shampoo was my least favorite. However, this shampoo only cost me $2.99 from Target for 12 ounces, so I can’t complain. The scent is quite refreshing and it’s infused with great oils, but the product seemed to just sit on my hair and not actually penetrate my strands. Of course each product will react differently depending on your curl pattern and porosity level, so don’t be afraid to try it for yourself. As for me, this is a product I might skip over next time I’m at the store.

I found this product at Target for $4.99. Having a solid conditioner to complete your wash day routine is important. This 3 minute deep conditioner felt extremely moisturizing and hydrating, after following up from the shampoo. This product redeemed the hair care line after I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality of the shampoo. The product can sit in your hair for up to 6 minutes before rinsing and drying. This product is perfect to use when you’re trying to go the extra mile to revitalize dry hair.

Aussie’s curly hair line has positively surprised me. As more companies are diversifying their products to appeal to more consumers, I’m happy to see that hair care aisles are looking more distinct and natural hair beauties have more options when they walk into the store.
