The inaugural Tallahassee Glow Run 5K is an event run by the Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida. The glow run was created to benefit neighbors in need. Also, ninety one percent of individuals served by the Catholic Charities are not Catholic.

Students are excited to attend the event and are glad that it is being held for a great cause.

“One of my neighbors that attends FSU told me about this event and how it was a charity run,” said FAMU student Khyree Thurman. “I plan to go to the Tallahassee Glow Run to not only get out of the house, but to support a good cause”

Although the event is new to Tallahassee, the run spreads all the way to Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. The run has also been occurring in Florida for seven years.

The Director of Funds Development Bambi Provost is going above and beyond to spread the word to Tallahassee about the Glow Run.

“We have been running commercials on WCTV and iHeartRadio ensuring that everyone comes out and has a great time,” Provost said. “Our mission with the run is to get everyone up and outside to walk and enjoy the festivities.”

Some proud sponsors of the event include Capital Health Plan, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Vale, Fleet Feet, FSU Campus Recreation, and more.

Amazing Race Shirt and Glow items are available for race participants who have pre-registered. Pre-Race festivities on the FSU Main Campus fields begin at 5 p.m.

Active.com gave vivid details on Saturday’s event — Ages 6-17 are only $20 and current College Students (with a college ID) are $25. General Registration is $30. If you have a team of 10 or more participants, you can register for $20. Children under 6 are free.

This fun filled family event takes place at The FSU Main Campus Fields, 1001 West Saint Augustine St., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 7 p.m.

Immediately after the race, there will be an After Party at “On Madison in College Town. “
