The nationally acclaimed Cousins Maine Lobster docked its traveling food truck Saturday at Lake Tribe Brewing Company.

From the crowded roadways to the parking lot, all paths in northwest Tallahassee led to the line for Cousins Maine Lobster. Customers were excited and eager to taste creative Maine-caught lobster creations.

Cousins Maine Lobster has been featured on television shows on The Food Network and “Good Morning America.”

In 2012 the owners, cousins Jim Tselikis and Sabin Lomac, successfully pitched Cousins Maine Lobster on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” receiving an investment from Barbara Corcoran.

Sonja Siegel, a Tallahassee resident, was familiar with the lobster duo before their Saturday appearance.

“I heard about Cousins Maine Lobster on Fox and I also saw them on ‘Shark Tank.’ It was a coincidence that I happened to be in town at the same time as them,” Siegel said.

Some of Saturday’s participants were at Lake Tribe for the first time, thanks to Cousins. Lake Tribe Brewing, the city’s second-oldest craft brewery (Proof is the oldest), allowed customers to have an alternative if the wait time was overbearing.

“I was in line for at least ten minutes. We barely moved and we have other obligations to attend so we gave up, but I did get to experience the brewing,” Siegel said.

For some, the extended wait time was used to create new memories.

Friends Taylor Nance and Mary Blizzard were all smiles and giggles as they waited to indulge in the tasty cuisine.

“We have been in line for about an hour and a half. My friend Mary wanted to take me out for my birthday, and she thought taking me to Lake Tribe for some lobster would be a good way to go,” Nance said.

Cousins presents a variety of Maine lobster dishes, ranging from lobster quesadillas to lobster grilled cheese.

“We are getting almost the whole menu. We are getting the sandwich, grilled cheese, tots, lobster tail and tots, lobster bisque, and the whoopee pie. We are going hard,” Blizzard said.

Cousins does not disappoint when it comes to delivering the experience of Maine lobster across America.

“It was really good! The lobster grilled cheese was both of our favorites. The lobster bisque was really good, and when the grilled cheese was dipped into the bisque both were amazing. I would definitely return for more, but I would get in line a little earlier,” Nance said.
