Do you get tired of eating the same food? Do your taste buds crave something out of the ordinary?

If so, Maple Street Biscuit Company is the place that you want to try. This savory finger-lickin’ restaurant is known for its various creations topped with a homemade flaky buttermilk biscuit.  This restaurant originally started in Jacksonville,  Nov. 8, 2012. Now it is booming across nine southern states.

As I was driving through Tallahassee, I couldn’t resist stopping at this place. The building  alone looked appealing and inviting.

When I walked through the door, the employee greeted me with a wide smile. Considering I hadn’t heard any reviews about this restaurant, I was hesitant to decide on what I wanted on the menu.

Once I stepped up to register, I proceeded to order the firebird-flaky biscuit, all-natural fried chicken breast, covered with house-made buffalo sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.

While I reached in my pocket to pay, the cashier asked, “What movie would you watch over and over again?” For a minute, I thought I heard her incorrectly. She noticed the puzzled look on my face and then she explained that the name of the movie would be called when my order is ready.

A customer next to me said, “Every month they have a different question they ask to associate it with your order.”

It was unique for the restaurant to come up with that concept.

Throughout the time my food was being prepared, I observed the high-rise ceiling, different figured tables and the tall glass windows around the perimeter of the building. The tall glass windows allow the customers to enjoy their food while viewing the open scenery. As I continued to observe my surroundings, customers and their families were holding conversations while taking pictures of the different dishes they had.

All of a sudden, an employee yelled, “Next Friday!”  As I walked to the counter to pick up my order, my pupils were dilated, my mouth was watery, and my nose flared to the redolent smells. The dish was properly centered in the middle of the plate with every topping making its own statement.

It gets even better. I took my first bite and was intrigued with the scrumptious, delectable, lip smacking experience from the first taste.

This unique restaurant deserves a 5-star rating. If you are open to eating outside the box, Maple Street Biscuit Company is a destination to consider. Your curiosity and charisma will have you choosing a dish that you would’ve never imagined.
