“It Chapter Two” was released in theaters earlier this month and quickly became a trending topic. It was regarded as the season’s most anticipated movie and horror film thus far.

CMX, RGS and AMC20 are the local theaters in Tallahassee.  Attending a new release like “It Chapter Two” might require a movie advocate to log off Netflix, Amazon or Hulu and get out into the community.

When visiting CMX Cinemas, on the city’s east side next to Costco, get ready for a wave of great movies, action, laughter and delicious food. CMX is a clean facility with very comfortable lounge chairs. Most enjoy visiting the theater on Tuesdays, when tickets are only $5.

The theater currently does not have a monthly subscription package available. Tickets for adults are $13 after taxes and $9 for kids. The staff is very friendly. CMX aims to bring an evolved and elegant movie experience to the capital city. The facility offers an exciting film experience from a selection of 14 screens, gourmet meal options and the latest audiovisual technology.

Jonathan Gil, a freshman computer science major, enjoys taking advantage of the Tuesday promotion. He recently watched “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw” and said, “Going on Tuesdays saves you a ton of money. The price of food on the other hand is expensive.”

AMC, at the Tallahassee mall, is very comfortable with reclining seats. A ticket for an adult at an AMC theater costs $13 and $11 for kids. You can save even more by becoming an AMC Stub member. The A-list subscription contract offers a $22 monthly package including up to three movies a week.  Another subscription available is called the Insider. It is free to get started on movie perks like discount Tuesdays and earn points toward a reward for every $1 spent. The final subscription offer is the Premier. For $15 a month enjoy all perks of an Insider including additional benefits of free upgrades on popcorns and drinks.

The final local theater is Regal Governors Square. It offers a subscription plan that includes a totally unlimited movies package. Starting at just $18 plus tax per month, you can watch as many movies as you want, as many times as you want, whenever you want. Download the Regal app, click on Regal unlimited and follow the steps. Once your sign-up is complete tickets are immediately available on the app or at the theater.

Rose François, a sophomore nursing student, has never visited a local theater. She currently has a Netflix subscription, which she is looking to cancel. She said she might be interested in becoming an AMC Stub member.

It should be noted that De’Quan Davis, a local teenager, was shot and killed Sept. 7, outside the Regal Governor’s Square movie theater after an altercation between the victim and another teen.
