Just when you thought she was done, she continues to raise the bar.

Florida A&M University alumna Adrienne Floyd, is a get-it-done type of woman. Floyd made her mark at FAMU as an overachiever. Today, she is set to launch her highly anticipated fitness brand, Slaynetik Fitness.

Floyd was involved in several extracurricular activities and organizations while at FAMU, and she is no stranger to being about her business. FAMU Student Government Association, SISTUHS and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority are a few organizations Floyd took part in while on The Hill.

Her college experiences have exposed her to many people who have been part of her fitness journey thus far. Being highly involved on campus provided Floyd with a large social media following.

“So many people have followed my fitness journey. They ask questions about what I eat and what I do to exercise. I thought, why not turn it into a business,” said Floyd.

Her first business endeavor did not go as expected. She created a fitness/health journal where customers could write their goals and meal plans. Being the go getter she is, she did not stop there when things did not go as planned. She decided to rebrand by brainstorming what she could do to provide quality fitness advice and products to her supporters.

“Slaynetik Fitness was a secret for a long time. I did not tell anyone. It was like my little secret baby gem,” Floyd said.

While working in silence, Floyd created Slaynetik Fitness. The brand is set to include sweatbands, sweat cream, fitness clothing, meal plans and more.

“The sweatbands are definitely going to be my most popular product,” said Floyd.

According to fitness guru Jake Wayne of LiveStrong, sweat belts work by combining two processes. The constricting belt is said to "compress" fat cells so they take up less space and stimulate sweating to reduce body weight.

“A Lot of people get them confused with the corset waist band but it is a big difference. Corset belts are usually worn with clothing. They are not meant for working out in because of the metal plates that can do more damage to your body if anything,” said Floyd.

Floyd wants to assist men as well as women.

“After everything gets off the ground with Slaynetik, I definitely want to create a men’s line as well,” Floyd said. “But of course we would have to find a more masculine name,” Floyd said.

Although Floyd is the backbone of Slaynetik Fitness, she has a village in the background supporting her along the way.

Nia Kennedy, best friend of Floyd, has been supporting her journey from the very start.

“I remember when she first started her weight-loss journey, seeing how far she has come has not only motivated me but others as well,” said Kennedy.

Kennedy handles the public relations efforts for Slaynetik Fitness.

“The audience we have is so genuine and continues to grow everyday, without a doubt I know Slaynetik Fitness is going to go very far,” said Kennedy.

Slaynetik Fitness is scheduled to launch at 2 p.m. Friday. The first products set to launch are the sweatbands, sweat cream, meal plans, workout apparel bundles, and more.
