FAMU student starts online boutique

Jasmine Hunt is the founder of A Girls Kollection, an online boutique that caters to ladies of all shapes and sizes. The online business ships packages, as well as provides local pick-ups for customers located in Tallahassee.

Hunt, 22 and a healthcare management student at FAMU, was inspired to begin a business because she believes in being her own boss.

“I started a business because I know I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur and I don’t want to work for someone all my life,” she said.

One day, Hunt hopes to see her business flourish into a popular online retail store that is known across all 50 states, as well as physical stores scattered across the world.

A Girls Kollection had its online release on July 1.

Although the online boutique is steadily growing and reaching new customers, Hunt said that it can be difficult at times.

“Being a full time working student and living a college life can get hectic at times,” Hunt said.

Customers of A Girls Kollection shared their satisfaction with the online boutique.

Senior business administration student Telisa Evans, says that she loves the variety of the clothes provided. She often uses the local pick-up service.

“The website makes me want to try new things when it comes to fashion,” Evans said. “Sometimes I almost spend my whole paycheck on shopping through there.”

Tisa Hall, a senior elementary education student at FSU, says that A Girls Kollection is her new favorite place to shop.

“The website itself is so welcoming, I often go back just to see which items are in stock,” Hall said.

As a new business owner, Hunt said she appreciates the customers who have helped her get started.

“Thank you to everyone that has supported, and everyone that will support. The business has come a long way, but A Girls Kollection is going to go further,” Hunt said.
