Tallahassee recovers after Hurricane Irma

Even though Hurricane Irma struck Tallahassee as a tropical storm, it still left behind a lot of damage.

More than 50,000 residents lost power because of Irma, which is half the number of customers that lost power last year during Hurricane Hermine. As of today, the majority of customers' power has been restored. Units are also working hard to clear debris, fallen trees and other damage caused by the storm.

Leon County Schools announced that students will return to school Thursday. All local colleges will return next Monday. Students have been out since last Friday.
