Artisan Marketplace hosts their grand opening

With three rooms full of one-of-a-kind crafts, the Artisan Marketplace celebrated their grand opening on Tuesday.

Barbara Pace, owner of the hand-crafted shop, brought together artists in different fields to offer the Marketplace as a platform for them to sell their art.

Pace worked trade shows for more than three years before deciding to invest in her own location, where she and her employees could be reached exclusively.

Desiree Jones, a shopper at the Artisan Marketplace, says she has been to many craft shops before, but this one by far is the most authentic she has seen thus far.

“I’ve been to so many craft shops, and this by far will be in my top five. All the crafts here seem more authentic than the ones that i’ve seen.”

Pace has six employees, she does the fabric creations, but the others specialize in other fields such as: pottery, woodturning, jewelry making, oil and acrylic painting, coffee house harvesting, and hand-made soaps and lotions.

Jasmyn Jones, a shopper at the Marketplace, says she has seen the most unique items she has seen in awhile.

“The Artisan Marketplace is so diverse in the crafts they carry. The shop is filled with so many authentic and unique pieces to choose from; more than I have seen in awhile.”

Pace said she created Artisan Marketplace because she typically wouldn't be considered an artist, as a Fabric Creator, but in actuality, she and the rest of her team are.

"I am an artist and fabric creator, but most people wouldn't consider that an artist, which is why I named the shop Artisan Marketplace," Pace said. "If a customer gets something from here, they won't see it anywhere else."

Artisan Marketplace is a convenient place to for the people who likes to have exclusive material.

If you want to be the only one in the city of Tallahassee, sporting a one of a kind handbag, or any other fabric based product, Artisan Marketplace would be a convenient place to start.

If you are looking to browse the shop, you can locate them at 1000 Thomasville Rd, in Tallahassee, Fla.
