Florida A&M University (FAMU) Connection kicked off the 2015-2016 school year with its first showcase Sept. 2 in the Charles Winter Wood Essential Theater.

The FAMU connection has found a group of lucky willing talents that have made cuts into the organization.

A phenomenal show was performed by FAMU’s very own touring company created with university students from different areas who provide entertainment for University recruitment events on Thursday evening.

Theater Alumni, Andrea Whittle expressed how she is always satisfied with shows from the connection.

“The Connection always seems to amaze me,” Whittle said. “They have such wonderfully diverse music which always jerks different emotion when in the audience, I loved it!”

Auditions are held in the spring semester and is open to all students enrolled at the university.

This group travels alongside the president of the university and royal court to show students how energized and ambitious FAMU students can be.

The connection is not limited to only Theatre majors; all students with talent and ambition are welcomed to try out.

“The talent and energy that the Connection had that night was so awesome. I’ve never witnessed anything like that before.” said first-year student Imani Nelson.

The connection is filled with students who have a passion for entertaining, singing, acting, and dancing.

Students like second-year FAMU pre-physical therapy student, Aaliyah McCrary, believes that she could be a great asset to the connection.

"In High school I loved to dance, although my singing isn't nearly as majestic I think I would be a great addition!"
