Lake Ella hosted their weekly Food Truck Thursdays from 6p.m.-9 p.m.

The park invites the community to come out every Thursday to eat, drink, listen to live music, and have family fun behind the Cottages at Lake Ella.

Shani Alexander, a chef and cashier on the Street Chefs food truck said that they come out every Thursday faithfully.

“We get really good business out here, it kind of fluctuates depending on the weather. There’s only one slow time of the year when all of the trucks stop doing business and that’s those two weeks in December when students go home for break,” Alexander said.

Many of the patrons come out to the park just to enjoy the scenery and the music.

Florida State student, Sara Shate, says she enjoys all the festivities that Food Truck Thursdays has to offer.

“I enjoy Food Truck Thursdays because it’s lively, a good hang out, and you can get whatever food you want,” Shate said.

Tallahassee Community College student Ivonna Thomas also frequents the park’s event.

“I come very often with my co-workers and we enjoy it because the food is great, the atmosphere is great and they give you a very large variety of choices, which I love,” Thomas said.

Visitors were offered a reasonable amount of choices for foods and each truck specialized in a different area of food.

“We sell a variation of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, we do steak wraps, gluten free and vegetarian options as well as specialty items depending on the season,” Alexander mentioned.

Lake Ella’s Big Easy Snowballs is also open during the time of Food Truck Thursdays and patrons are welcome to go partake in those frozen treats as well.

The next Food Truck Thursday will be hosted on Feb.26.
