Candi Girls Events will host Sip, Shop, Swap on Feb. 13 at the Jack Mclean Activity Center to give women with their own businesses a chance to market their goods and services.
The evening will be filled with socializing, pampering and shopping with many of Tallahassee’s finest businesses by women. Complimentary “mock-tails” will be served along with other pampering services.
Mahogany Kash, event organizer, thinks this event is the ultimate girl’s night out.
“We have some of the best local businesses on site to create an at your fingertips shopping experience for the guests. Add in music, good food, and drinks and you have the makings of a fun-filled girl's night out,” Kash said.
There are VIP and general admission tickets available for shoppers to purchase. The VIP ticket includes a chair massage, hand treatment with massage, mini eyebrow lift, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and a raffle ticket to be entered in a drawing for prizes from the event’s sponsors.
Running your own business is difficult according to Javoni Cobb, third-year psychology student at Florida A&M University, who runs her own hair business.
“I like that I have control over my time and money but it’s hard having my own business because sometimes you have to deal with the no show customers,” Cobb said.
“Additionally, I'm a strong believer in supporting women owned local businesses. Having the opportunity to give them new and fun ways to promote their business and interact with the women of Tallahassee is an added bonus for me,” Kash said.
Many people are looking forward to attending this event. Kristin Louis, third-year communications student at Florida State University, can’t wait to see what this event has in store for her.
“I love shopping and being pampered. This event will be a great chance to do both,” Louis said.
