Lady Rattlers outperform Lady Dolphins

The Lady Rattlers improved to 15-21 with a solid mid-week win over the Jacksonville University Lady Dolphins, 7-3, at the JU Softball Complex.

The Lady Rattlers stormed out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when freshman catcher Denise Anderson got an RBI single.

The Lady Rattlers scoring would continue in the second inning as they tacked on two more runs.

Sophomore outfielder Sable Lee scored the first run for JU, with senior infielder Codi Kelly scoring the second, after a line drive to left field.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, freshman catcher Charli Bradshaw hit a solo home run for the Lady Dolphins to close the gap to 4-3.

But the Lady Rattlers quickly bounced back when senior pitcher Ashleigh Minter came in the top of the fifth inning and gave up just a single hit to close out the game defensively.

Sophomore infielder Raven Moseley hit a monster three-run home run to put the game out of reach in the seventh.

The Lady Rattlers will next take on the University of Florida Lady Gators in weekend action.
