Customers are blown away

Cherry Blow Dry Bar opened its first U.S. salon in Tallahassee on Monday.

The salon offers a blowout service as well as extensions for its customers. In about 30 minutes, clients can enjoy a unique experience with friends for any occasion.

For $35, customers can receive a full blowout with any style of choice. For under $400, clients can also receive luxury extensions of any length or hair type.

Clients can choose from beach-like waves, sleek and sophisticated or classic up-dos.
In celebration of the launch, clients will receive $15 blowouts Nov. 18-24.

Courtney Harrison, owner of Cherry Blow Dry Bar, said the bar has received a good response through social media.
“Many new clients have booked appointments through our Facebook page,” Harrison said. “The feedback is tremendous, and clients are excited to have a new beauty experience in the Tallahassee area.”

Originating in Sydney, blow dry bars have been popping up in the U.S. recently. Cherry Blow Dry Bar, located on 1815 Thomasville Road, Suite 210, gives clients a unique experience that’s not offered at other salons.

“This is a new experience for the U.S., and Cherry Blow Dry Bar wanted to feature this affordable service in Tallahassee first,” said Kristen Marquet, director of Marquet Media LLC. “We are using Tallahassee as a test market and want to make sure residents experience the growing popularity of blow dry bars.”

Clients can book special events with Cherry Blow Dry Bar and enjoy glasses of champagne while being serviced.
“The focus is big on bachelorette and bridal parties,” Marquet said.

The salon also features trained celebrity hairstylists that uphold the Australian blowout tradition.

“All our stylists have gone through months of training to assure trust with our clients,” Harrison said.

Shani Rose, a senior nursing student from Fort Lauderdale, is excited that this new salon will cater to all hair types, regardless of race or gender.

“I love quality extensions, so I’m interested in seeing the results,” Rose said. “The prices are affordable as well, and it seems you get a lot for what you pay for.”
