Local organizations to host business expo

A local video production company in conjunction with a local dance studio will host “The Mix” business expo Saturday at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science.

NP Media Productions and Excellence Dance Studio are aiming to allow small businesses to “mix and mingle” with themselves and consumers at the expo, which is open to all business owners, young professionals and entrepreneurs.

Niekeisha Pryce, an alumna of Florida A&M and owner of NP Media Productions, said her main goals are creating new stream revenue for people and knowing of businesses within the area.

“We are collaborating with businesses in the community and playing liaison to them and the attendees of what’s available here then outsourcing to other companies,” Pryce said.

Businesses such as Truth Investments, an investment adviser, will display their products and services at the expo. Some businesses will provide free samples of their products.

“I like the idea of getting exposure, especially to the targeted demographic of young individuals and small businesses,” said Joseif Pinkston, president of Truth Investments.

A one-stop shop where people can purchase products or receive informational background on the businesses will be set up inside the museum, where 200 people are expected to attend. Door prizes will be given to the first 100 people who arrive. Raffle prizes and vacation getaways will be given to game-winners.

“The Mix” will take place from 2-6 p.m. at the museum, located at 350 S. Duval St. Tickets are on sale at www.themix850.eventbrite.com.
