Lady Rattlers look for success at home

 

The Lady Rattlers softball team is on a two-game win streak, including a 5-0 shutout against North Carolina A&T.

Kieifi Myrick, a sophomore infielder from Crawfordville, Fla., leads the Lady Rattlers ((12-27, 4-2 MEAC)) in RBIs with a .514 slugging percentage. In the shutout, Myrick contributed three RBIs.

Ashanti Shepherd, a senior outfielder from Moore Haven, Fla., carries the highest batting average at .359 and a team-high 15 stolen bases.

Brielle Gordon, a junior outfielder Brielle Gordon from Valrico, Fla., is batting .303 and is second on the team with 14 RBIs.

Naesha Lewis, a freshman outfielder from Orlando, Fla., is one shy of a perfect steal rate with 10 of 11 successful opportunities.

As a team, the Lady Rattlers have shown patience at the plate by drawing 85 walks compared to only 70 for their opponents.

FAMU, which is 3-4 at home, will play the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University in a three-game series at home. The first game begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, the second is at 3 p.m. and the finale is Sunday at noon.
