FSU men’s track athletes arrested

According to a Second Judicial Circuit affidavit, two Florida State University athletes were arrested early Thursday morning.

The Tallahassee Police Department received a call from a witness stating that a male was shooting at a person in the pool area of the Campus Walk Apartments.

Track athlete Ronell Mance was arrested for possession of a forged driver’s license or ID card and resisting arrest without violence.

In addition to being arrested for obstruction without violence, Mance’s teammate Stephen Newbold was also arrested for public discharge of a firearm.

A K-9 unit later tracked down Newbold, who fled the scene when officers began to pat down the other four suspects.
